Guest pete111 Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 Hi all, I got myself a copy of a homescreen designer and set to work. Great i thought but after all the hard work when i transfer it to the phone it loads very strangley indeed. And more to the point it doesnt offer the same sort of look some of you pros achieve. Is there a better way to make a homescreen? like a better program or is it a different thing altogether you guys use?
Guest drblow Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 I agree that the ruttensoft homescreen designer is very limited. I have never really made an entire screen using it, mostly coz it doesn't allow use of the Orange e200 plugin, which dominates most of my screen designs. I think it has resulted in more people being able to make their own designs, but it does seem that the designs have become very similar. I use the time honoured method of notepad & PS (well, fireworks mostly)! If you can get into coding xml there's a huge amount more you can do than any designer app will allow. I think it's more creative to do things from scratch - and you can download any xml file and plagiarise it to death!! :D
