Guest Jamma14 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 (edited) I know people will prob tell me to search etc for this but trust me I have... basically my phone was app-unlocked but kinda reset itself or something after I took the battery out while xbar was copying some text from orneta notepad or something - it had crashed so I took the battery out. Anyway yeah my registery settings have gone now (nooo my kevtris score!) and it is app locked again!! V annoying!!! I'll prob get an mpx220 or c550 if i can wait that long soon but I still wanna app unlock this again. I first tried the orange developers page and it said that my imei wasn't in the database so it said I should download a reg app...and I did. I followed the instructions and nothing happened....it just said registering the device to the network then stopped, I dunno woteva so I thought okay not too bad there are other methods.... So I tried the rapiconfig method here as I thought at least that I have the smartphone SDK installed but that didnt work as rapiconfig wasnt recognised... and also checklock.exe wouldn't even check the lock because it isn't signed apparently...??? So I don't get that program that is stupid... So I tried the ae config method at coolsmartphone.com and it wouldn't run because it also wasn't certified either! Arrggh!!! What is wrong!! It was simple when I did it before!! Are there any other methods???? Please help??? EDIT: Ok I got rapiconfig working...kinda....the command was recognised but it failed see the attatchment for extra info on what it said... someone please help me!!! :D Edited March 28, 2005 by Jamma14

I just reset my phone without bothering to check if I had the first few sms messages from Orange backed up and have had the same problems. Bizarrely, the orange reg app and the phone both give different IMEI numbers (just an extra 01 at the end) than are on the paperwork for the phone - is that normal? It also says that the IMEI/phone is registered - assumed it was all a holiday muck up and that there would be a helpful reply from Orange to the mail I sent to addy on that page you show a screenshot of. Tomorrow.
Guest Jamma14 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 (edited) Yeh I emailed em too but to be honest knowing the customer service for most phones I don't think they'll have a clue.... (here's hoping I'm wrong) EDIT: O and forgot to mention the Orange reg app gives the right IMEI for me and says I'm registered but what then I have no idea what to do with it... Guest Psicotix Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 (edited) Just noticed a similar topic in typhoon.modaco.com - http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=ST&f=61&t=203937&st= called "Cannont find IMEI" (sic)- same story. Edited March 28, 2005 by Psicotix
Guest Jamma14 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Yeh well hopefully the orange sites just down we'll see...if they get lotsa emails bout it maybe something will happen...
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Hi all, I had the same problem with an Orange Motorola MPx200 I bought from a chap at work. I tried all the unlock methods and the action register and nothing worked. But I read somewhere that you have to type in your IEMI number exactly as it comes up on your phone display including the hyphens. I.E. XXXXXX-XX-XXXXXX-X That then worked first time. But this is something that has changed recently because when I originally did my E100 and E200 I remember just typing in the whole number.
Guest Jamma14 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 (edited) Well my IMEI is just displayed as long one number on the phone lol :D but I'll give ur method a try and report back... EDIT: O and w00t!!! 100th post!! :D Edited March 28, 2005 by Jamma14
Guest Jamma14 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Didn't work... :D Any other suggestions or techniques??? Anyone know about the IMEI being unrecognised or the rapiconfig error? PLZ!!??!
Guest fozzie Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 (edited) Same problem here. There must be a problem with the OTA site because I've never had any problems in the past. In fact, OTA unlock worked fine with the same phone only a week ago. Hopefully Orange will have it fixed within the next couple of days. Edited March 28, 2005 by fozzie
Guest Jamma14 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Okies well that's good to here... just dunno why the other methods didn't work... O well I guess I'll just have to be patient..... unless ppl have other ideas???? :D (2 posts in about 2 mins shows patience ain't my strong point :D)
Guest Jamma14 Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 Update: I got an email reply!!! "Hello, I have attached a Security Level Setting application targeted specifically for your phone with IMEI xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <> Please unzip this application, connect your phone to your PC, and run the application on your PC. It should install a "Security Level" application on your phone's Start menu. Run the Security Level application, select the desired security level, and press Action. This should set the security level on your device, allowing you to run applications on the device. If this fails please check that the IMEI you supplied to us is correct and respond to this email with the correct IMEI or detailing at which stage the failure occurred. A High Security Level corresponds to the security set by factory defaults. A Low Disabled Level corresponds to the security set by the web-based Certificate Security Disabling procedure (formerly called Unlocking). Once you set the Certificate Security Level to Disabled, you can use the instructions contained within the following article to do privileged application development on your phone: A Practical Guide to the Smartphone Application Security and Code Signing Model for Developers http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....ne_security.asp Kind regards, Olivier Developer's Technology Support Coordinator" Wayhay! About to test it now!!
Guest Jamma14 Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 Worked!! :D Orange customer service rocks lol!!

There are now 3 settings in the app, High, Low and Disabled. Am I right in assuming the web version is offline for everyone now?
Guest Jamma14 Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 No it's still there for me. Just read your smart question tutorial from your sig fozzie, made me chuckle. Just wondering what you think about the first post I did in this thread...coz i think it has a few elements of both. So do you think it's smart or stupid? :D

So do you think it's smart or stupid? :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I actually think it was a pretty smart post; you stated exactly what you did, with what and even included some screenshots. If only half the posts asking for help had that level of detail :D Back on track - I just received my unlock app so hopefully all will be ok once I get home. I'm fed up with having nothing on my phone for the last 6 days. I've been dying to do a Sprite restore! As a note for other people: I think there's TWO different email address that come up on the web page if OTA unlocking fails. The one I had at home was [email protected] but the one I got today was [email protected]. Perhaps I am getting to the OTA page 2 different ways; I'll have to investigate! No reply after 5 days from the first email address but a reply from the second one (interestingly from [email protected]) within a couple of hours. So, make sure you are emailing the right address :D Edited March 30, 2005 by fozzie
Guest alsaro2002 Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Hey, guys! I have exactly the same problem but no good results yet: 1.- I run CheckLock on the SPV C500. The message is: "Your phone is locked" 2.- I run "RapiConfig /p ..." from the command prompt to disable the security from the PC with the SPV ActiveSynced. The message is: "Config failed (0x80070005): Acceso denegado." Then, I try Orange support (150) and they tell me I have to pay £20 and wait for 10 days for the mobile to be unlocked. Is it because I'm from Barcelona? If anyone can help, much appreciated. Anyway, I'll keep on researching till the end but Orange service equals NULL. Regards!
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 No, we love Barcelona ;) For SIM-unlocking, go here : http://www.modaco.com/C500_SimLock_Togglin...00-t207545.html For application unlocking, go here : http://www.modaco.com/This_is_how_to_app_u...ne-t206929.html
