Very weird problem with my MPx200...

Hey everyone,

Today I have just noticed a very strange problem with my MPx200. It seems that when I push on the TALK/SEND button with some force, the phone *instantly* shuts off. I have never seen this happen before, and I just realized it today when a friend called and I pressed TALK/SeND to pick up, but the phone shut off. I am waiting on doing a hard reset, because I am not sure if it will actually fix the problem. It kind of feels like a physical problem (i.e. pressing the button firmly will 'short' out some connection underneath) although I really hope it can be fixed with a hard reset. I know that one solution is to just press the button softly, but I don't want to have to worry about that. This phone seems to be built quite well, so I don't know why it has started doing this all of a sudden.

If anyone has experienced this, or something like it themselves, please let me know...or also if anyone has some ideas of what it could be/what to try to fix it.

Thanks MoDaCommunity!

You guys are the greatest!!

Have you had your phone out in the rain at all?

I ask that because my digital camera did the same thing when i pushed a button and i think the contacts may have been corroded when i was trying to take some lightning pictures and it was raining!

Unless you can take it to bits there maybe nothing you can do.

is yr phone running wm2002 or 2003? mine's on 2003... but i don't think it should be the OS problem anyway. send it back to moto since it's under warranty.. you deserve better..
