Guest spearchucker Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 HI All, Recently purchased an Orange SPV C500, and copied all of the contacts over individually from a Nokia. I no need to copy the contacts back to the Nokia. Problem ...... I have over 400 contacts on the phone an cannot sit there sending each one via the IR port. Is there a way to copy off the contacts to a PC using ActiveSync, I do not use Outlook... Lotus notes. Can anybody yell me the location of the contacts file and its name, so i can explore the phone and copy off. Thanks in advance Spearchucker !
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 Hi. Welcome to MoDaCo. Can you save all your Nokia phone contacts to your SIM card? Once saved to SIM card, load it to your C500, open SIM Manager > Menu > Select All > Menu > Add to Contacts. or... If you have already saved the contact informations on the SIM card, try Jeyo Mobile Companion. It'll read SIM card contacts and let you save them to your phone memory. :D
Guest chucky.egg Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 Saving contacts to the SIM card will ONLY save one number (not sure which one) for the person. There's no way that I know of to browse the files on the phone to pick out contacts, although I am thinking about a little app that will export contacts to individual VCF files (it wont be ready any time soon though) Your best bet might be to get a trial version of PumaTech's Intellisync and sync both phones with Lotus - I think Intellisync can do it.
Guest Mr.Clark Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Once you have all the contacts on the smartphone, is there any way to stop it showing the SIM card contacts as well? My contact list is twice as long as it should be, thanks to all the SIM contacts. Or is there a way to just delete them, and keep my ActiveSync contacts?
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Go into your Accessories folder and select SIM Manager. Menu, Select All, Delete. ;)
