Sync with AOL?

Hi, new to Smartphone (SPV C500).

Have configured phone and Outlook pc client to pick up AOL mail.

How do I get Active Sync to talk? I get an attention required message against the inbox and a message telling me that to view error messages I should connect using serial/USB (which it obviously already is).

Am I setting this up the wrong way? can it be done? or is something not quite right?

I look forward to being told that it's obviously not possible!! :oops:

Thinking about old posts I thought it was not possible to pick up AOL

email.

But syncing from Outlook to your phone should not be a problem

I didn't think it was (as AOL isn't a typical POP3 ISP) but it is (unfortunately I can't remember where I learnt this from), the email wizard (phone) takes you through it, you enter the email address it does the rest.

I don't think this used to be the case with AOL as I had to go to the MS website to learn how to pick up AOL mail in Outlook. That suggested it is only a recent development?

So you think it's a case of a sync problem between phone and Outlook as opposed to trying to set it up in a way it's not supposed to be?

There must be someone out there who has AOL linked to their phone? can anyone confirm?
