Guest ManImCool Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 Ok i was just minding my own business one day charging my phone as usual and what not, and I noticed that my phone had mysteriously turned off! Seemed strange but didn't panick, until i realized that my phone wasn't turning on! Holding the power button does nothing at all. I tried taking out the battery and replacing it multiple times, but it doesn't do anything. Just a black screen, nothing seems to be turning on. However, when I hold down the buttons to do a hard reset, the screen pops up asking 'yes' or 'no', so SOMETHING has to still be working, right? I selected 'yes', and it said formatting for like 5 seconds, then went right back to a black screen again! It won't turn on! ANy ideas anyone???
Guest frostya Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 my phone is doing the same thing, so I guess it's time to send it to motorola... I belive your battery doesnt have enough juice to power on. I can get to the Master Reset but that's about all. My unit was the original non black/orange dot version bought in october of '04. What I did notice is that the phone does not charge anymore via USB or Moto Adapter. I bought the phone for use on T-Mobile so Cingular XBM is no good for me. I also tried a new battery at Cingular and it will power up now (because of a battery with juice) but not charge.

NOT through the USB port of the PC? Edited April 1, 2005 by Paraklas
Guest jeavis Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 I had this problem once but I just removed the battery and the sim card then reinserted and it worked fine.

Sometimes you just need the old fashioned recharge. Hope you figure it out.
Guest ManImCool Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 Yes, I tried charging with BOTH the wall charger AND the USB sync cable. No such luck either way. Tried the battery/SIM card taking-out trick, didn't do anything. Looks like it may be time to call Cingular insurance.
