i-mate SP3i & Joystick

Having read a couple of complaints on i-mate's support forum about problematic joysticks I was wondering if anyone here has encountered similar problems and what was the action taken to solve them even a DIY thing.

To be more accurate: After 11 days of use my joystick became less responsive in Right/Down navigation and now (1 month later) it's almost dead. I've also read people saying the joystick just poped out of the phone or just stopped working entirely and I don't want to think of that possibility as well.

Unfortunately, i-mate support does nothing to help us with this problem except saying the easiest thing (for them) that is to send the phone to a repair center in Far East. Easy for them but if you live in the other side of the planet you obviously don't want to wait 10 days to go there, another 7-10 to be fixed and another 10 days for return.

It seems that it's a hardware problem so no firmware upgrade should be able to fix it. Any feedback from you please?

i have this problem too, right and down doesn't work every time, my joystick poped out but it's not a big problem, now i'm using it without yhe gray plastic...

i can't stay without my phone for 30 days so i will wait until i will buy another phone and then i will send to repair under warranty.

of course i will not buy another imate...

i read on imate community forum that someone repair this hardware problem but is not a simple operation.

same here, i send mine to i-mate last weeek for replacement, they will send a new phone for me by this friday they said >
