Guest ospre Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 Has anybody installed the Trend Micro Mobile Security Anti virus package for their C500? If so does it work OK, were there any problems, is system performance downgraded at all? For those of you who unaware of the product details can be found at http://uk.trendmicro-europe.com/enterprise...50&rightnav=0,0 the company is offering free updated until end of June, presumably it goes subscription after that.
Guest squall Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 I decided that since there are currently no virus's for the smartphone platform I didnt need to pay for an antivirus app... I have no doubt trend mobile realised most users would feel the same so decided to make the app free for a period, in the hole that a virus would come to the platform soon. or am i just grumpy?
Guest filao Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 I had a problem when I installed this on my C500 in that my Betaplayer stopped working .... just a warning
Guest jporch316 Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 Trouble with anti virus software is that it always runs/scans - I dont use it on my PC (prefer to use combination of weekly backups/restore and clean installs every now and again. There are no viruses that can attack your smartphone at the moment - best bet is to keep regular backups in case of the more frequent threat of software failure. If you do install it - keep us posted as to how efficiently it runs (specifically battery drain & ram usage)
