Guest WWWeed Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 Well can us HTC blue angel users expect an upgrade to Windows Mobile 2005? Or are going do have to deal with the same old story of the networks, HTC, microsoft not giveing a s*** cos they cant make much money from it??
Guest Pondrew Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 There'll probably be the option in the future of 'cooking' a Windows 2005 rom for the Blue Angel if you want to get into that (something I've refrained from doing for fear of turning my device into a paper weight) but I doubt we'll see an official upgrade/update from the providers. Similarly, I don't foresee anyone (not even O2 supporting it's XDA brand) offering an official update to Windows Media 10. What I can tell you though is that XDA-Developers.com have already produced a couple of cooked roms with it included. One based on the latest XDA2s rom and the other based on the Siemens SX66 rom (that incidentally has the newest build of Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition appearing on a Blue Angel). As always, any such experiments are at your own risk.
Guest Jay247 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 One problem with the fast pace of technology is that usually devices are being updated quicker than they could be perfected. In the past, in order to get a proper "upgrade" in software, you had to buy a new device. I'm sure this is no exception here. HTC are not working on making the current devices work properly, they're working on rushing out the next batch of PPCs and Smartphones... which is a shame! I'm with Pondrew: I'm sure there will be no official OS upgrade in the future.
