The ClearType registry key is missing under the GDI key on my O2 so I use PHM Registry Editor to create one, but I get an error message: Unable to perform this operation.

Anyone knows why that is? Thanks.

Yes, it's locked. You need to set/reset that using a cab file designed for that. Search this site for the Tweaks 2K2 application or http://www.customcabbage.co.uk/cabbage.php . Both can set it for you although the last time I checked, the site wasn't working very well. It might be working now, however.

I don't think it really matters for that one option. The same thing worked on both an E200 and a mitac phone for me.

Thanks, but it does matter.

Works only if I select HTC Voyager/Typhoon.

FWIW, on my MPx220 the ClearType registry key is located in a different place (and it's not locked):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\MainLCD\ClearType

the mpx220 is the only one that i have found in this way. And even in the mpx220 it work too if you delete that key in MainLCD and create a key Cleartype and a value Cleartype under the GDI key.
