Guest agtom Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 Following a successful hard reset I tried to sync using Activesync. It tries to set up a ner partnership, how do I get it to sync with the existing 'Smartphone' partnership? TIA for any assistance
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 You cant, you'll have to set a new one and remove the old one i'm afriad
Guest DJHope Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 Not quite true you need to delete the partnership in the registry and it will use the same name for the new one, theirs no way to keep EXACTLY the same partnership though obviously, Software/Windows CE Sevices/Activesync/Partnerships Something like that, have a search about cant remeber exactly were it is ;)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 you could always set up a new partnership, remove the old one, then change the new ones name in the registry. /me tries
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 K a wierd one here, think it was cos i had a working partnership set up already (i just put a new name in after hard reseting), but here goes: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows CE ServicesPartners1a3a7c9a was the location of my partnership info. I changed the value entry "DisplayName" to what i wanted it as. Wait a fwe minutes and restart Activesync, the partnership name is what you changed it to. Problem is, on my SPV at least it asked to set up a new partnership again, as i already had one set up with the alternate name i used. I've had a look but i cant find the partnership name value in the smartphone registry, so the above doesnt help too much really :/
