Guest Liz Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Hi all Well they’ve arrived :D – and been charging since 10am this morning. Can anyone help with the following? I’m just dieing to start using it! First, instructions say to let it charge for 24hrs – is this really necessary?? I know this can have some effect on battery life, but as the battery has been “partly charge” before I got it anyway - will using it sooner really matter? If I put the SIM card in now (to at least LOOK at the screen!) will my MPX200 get cut off? (Its on Orange – MPX220 is with O2). Not changed before so not at all sure how this all works, I’ve retained the numbers. Can you sync and charge at the same time? I’ve looked at the 2 cradles available for the 220 but not sure which one to get. The MPX200 just fitted on the cradle and charged and synced at the same time from the USB. The Motorola 220 cradle seems have to charge and sync separately – have I got that right or is there a cradle that will do both at the same time? Thanks for any help Liz
Guest sullivanpt Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 I don't use a cradle, but the supplied USB cable will work fine for sync and charge (using your PC power supply). I can't speak to UK and retaining numbers. In the US, if you keep your number and switch carriers, your expected to cary both phones with you (with repective SIM cards loaded) until the process completes. Incoming calls to your old number may come on either phone. Ougoing calls can be placed on either phone, billing for outgoing calls will be tied to the phone used.
Guest squall Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 i would charge for at least 6 hours. Ive given details as to why a few times so do a search if your interested. putting different sims in wont get your phone cut off. although depending on where you bought it you may have to get it unlocked
Guest fincan Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 for lithium-ion batteries, if the phone says it's fully charged, it's charged. No need to wait after it says 'I'm charged!'.
Guest squall Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Thats not the case im afraid. The battery indicator is not accurate during initial charge, which is why you have to charge it for an exessive time

(I have told them, and got the PAC number). Have now put the O2 SIM in new phone – and both phones are still working. Thanks for help – still got 220 on charge, now via USB and have “explored” it a bit – I like it….But have mucked up on modem setting and need help - so will do new post (to change “subject” line) on that…… Liz
