Anybody know if there is a setting to allow a sound + vibrate to be played when bluetooth beams are recieved?

If you have system sounds on you get a crappy bleep when you recieve a beam, however I've got system sounds turned off (don't need reminding everytime i press a button!) and would prefer a customizable sound + vibrate.

HELP!! Surely there must be a way to do this

Can't believe there isn't a setting or registry hack to enable this. Can anyone suggest where to start looking?

I haven't checked it out (yet), and it's originally meant for bluejacking, but maybe this is something you could use:

Mobiluck

It's free...

Try it, and post your findings!

Mobiluck....... the latest version (1.5.2) will not work on the C500. The phone locks up.

Wait for the updated version

Works on mine just fine

Have had several run ins with users who cant get it to work - yet there are just as many who can get it to work.

As I posted on the Mobiluck forum -

Patience - its free software - once they have mastered it they are going to charge for it - it says so on their website.

Installs and runs perfectly on my imate sp3 (with french orange rom).

Seems like a neat little app, but doesn't solve my problem. It might alert you if somebody else is using mobiluck but not if anyone beams you something by any other method.

Why can't incoming beams be treated like sms or emails and alert you with a user defined sound and vibrate?

Maybe it's not available because it might not be very useable. I can imagine that it would be quite annoying if you work in a big building with a lot of people and every time someone with a bluetooth enabled phone walks into your "bluetooth bubble" your phone rings or vibrates. Or when you're walking along a busy street! It might be fun for about five minutes or so, but I'm pretty sure I personnally would switch it off really fast! But that's just me I suppose...

I'm not talking about notification everytime a bluetooth device walks into your 'bluetooth bubble', just a notification if something ( a file/contact/message ) is sent directly to your phone.

I quite often get home after a night at the pub to discover I have been sent odds and sods via bluetooth but had no idea they where there till i checked the phone.
