Just thought I'd let you know that my call to upgrade from the e200 to c500 today came back with no c500s in stock, silver or black.

I'll reply when I get a text to say they are back in.

:D

Noooooooooooooooo! :D

I've been patiently waiting until the 9th April when my 12 month contract is up and I can upgrade.

It's all these people getting replacements sent out because of a little dust under the screen :D

they better not be out of stock by the weekend!!! cos if they are.....

Are you waiting to upgrade too?

I thought my only trouble was choosing the colour, not actually getting one. The Orange web site only shows the black one for upgrade, I've just noticed this.

Can you upgrade in an Orange shop and still haggle the price?

Yeah- go into a shop, they'll give you a new sim and copy all your numbers for you...

Unfortunatly I don't actually get the phone on Saturday, just get to phone Orange to upgrade as my 12 month contract is up for renewal.

The questions will start early next week. :D

Handed in my 30 day notice to Orange Customer Retension Dept. a couple of weeks back. Was told they couldn't do me any special deals as I was still in my 12 month contract but phone back on or after the 9th when my contract was up and extra offers will be viewable on the system against my account.

Being the impatient chap I am I phoned on Wednesday and was told that I wouldn't get any special treatment even after the 9th. :D

I was hoping this second person was wrong and that on the 9th I would be offered at least a free c500.

Until you suggest that you may have to switch networks to get a more favourable deal they will treat you as bottom of the list.

All you need to do is ask to be put through to cancellations and you'll have them eating out of your hands.

I had free picture messages and video messages for two months and my mate (samsung d500 user) was so peed off with them they chopped his line rental in half for six months.

Only the awkward customers win

Thats what i did originally a couple of weeks back and is when I was told wait until end of contract and they could hopefully do something for me. The person I originally spoke to seemed very polite and when I mentioned the 30 day's notice to leave she volunteered to put the notice in there and then and said I can cancel the termination if they give me a deal i like. She sounded confident that they would be able to keep my custom. (Unlike the lady I spoke to this week).

I probably won't get the phone any quicker if I phone now compared to tomorrow morning anyway.

Fingers crossed :?:

You will find quite a few people have been given the old "phone back after x date of the month and we can do you a deal" line. And unless you have their name, number etc and a note on your account you dont get anything. There seems to the odd operator who uses the line to get rid of moaning customers.

Being awkward is one way to go, you could just be nice and say, "thinking of leaving just wondered what you can offer me" rather than the usual moaning CSR's usually have to put up with..............no wonder they do the following!

If only I could do this in the shop!

Been on the phone to Orange today as my contract has finished. Hoped I

would be able to get a cheaper upgrade. I'm after a c500 that is only £49

on most new low cost contracts. They couldn't offer me it cheaper than £79,

which is the same as if I had wanted to upgrade during my 12 month contract.

I have been spending about £18 / month for the last year.

Retension Dept told me that the rules changed at the beginning of April and

as such they can't offer any decent deals, not even a slightly cheaper

phone.

Any advice from here? Is it worth emailing exec office, if so what is their

emailaddress? Has anyone else had dealings with customer retension since

the beginning of April?

Posted this in the main smartphone area as well.

Cheers.

I thought the C500 was free on all contracts now?

I'm pretty sure it is from the MoDaCo Shop too?

Not from Orange directly on tariff's below £25

Incidently, I used the very polite but disapointed approach.

Guest jporch316

1. Get your contract to £25

2. Threaten to cancel

Id go with no 2

Give em hell (again)

Already got my cancellation in. Due to disconnect on 27th April.

Sent an email to Exec Office. Annoyed me that they have an advert on tv at the moment saying that they look after existing customers before getting new ones and yet you can get the phone cheaper on a £15/month new contract.

Unless they get back in touch I will follow through with my cancellation and maybe get a new £25/month contract from a shop, get c500 free and trade in an old phone for £50.

you ll probably get a begging call off them before the date - they ll bend over backwards for you !!

Guest pjam001

Hopefully. If I can get the phone free it will be worth my while staying on the contract i'm on. Otherwise I may as well start with a new one.

If only I wasn't a gadget freak. Life would be so much simpler.

So because you threaten to cancel you should get some amazing deal?

If you are a valued customer Orange would have made the effort to keep you when you called to cancel.

You only spend £18 a month so you don't provide much profit to the company so they are willing to let you walk.

Do you really think its worth Orange giving you a free C500? Its £149.99 on pay as you go and £18 per month for 12 months is only £216 so its not worth there time giving you a free C500.
