Guest tedious Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Hey, I just spotted this site : http://www.smesolutions.co.uk/modaco/sandisk_wifi_256.htm and I wonder if there is mini SD that does that? Would be very helpful to use with my C500!
Guest squall Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 There is no mini sd wifi cards at the minute. Even if someone did release one chances are it would be no good for the c500, the regular sd card sticks out by about an ince, I doubt it would be possible to fit that into a regular minisd slot - the c500 card is internal so size is critical On top of that there is the usual issues of drivers etc. All in all i dont think we will see wifi in this format for smartphones. Chances are we will see wifi built in to a phone at some point
Guest Swampie Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 Also, I believe the WiFi SD card, is a SDIO card - not just SD, and the device must support SDIO (and not just SD). Therefore, even if they shrink it to be a mini-SD - unless the C500 has a miniSDIO slot it'll be useless. AFAIK, miniSDIO doesn't exist, so the chance of the C500 of having it is slim. :D David
Guest Confucious Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 WM2005 has built in WiFi support so presumeably when it's released someone will build the H/ware for it.
