Now i'm curious to this. I was away in Feb and my phone didn't work, however it did find the other networks, but i wasn't allowed onto them. Has anyone used theirs abroad, or do i need to speak to orange and say "hey i needed to use this abroad" and they change my orange account to do so?

Yes, you have to phone them and ask them to enable 'International Roaming' or whatever it's called.

Not sure if it's available for PAYG phones though.

The phone will then work abroad and you will be connected to the local partner operator when you fire it up on foreign soil.

Be careful of the charges though, particularly with GPRS. In fact GPRS might not work in some countries - see the coverage map on the Orange website.

damn those cheeky monkeys. Lucky for me my partners phone worked, however she never asked for it to be roaming. Oh well nevermind. Will know for the future. Cheers :D
