Guest fallwood Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 Me again, forgive me if this sounds dumb but how do i go about connecting to a commercial wifi hotspot. Ive been driving around using wififofum and connecting to loads of unsecured networks quite easily but i cant seem to connect to any commercial hotspots. For example i know of a few places that have tmobile or mycloud hotspots, if i want to buy some time online how do i do it, can i access the providers online store to purchae time through the hotspot or do i need to already have an account and know what login details to provide. I am going to the US in a few weeks and want to connect to any available hotspots to send pictures etc back home, surely i dont need to have accounts for all the different providers do i. Any help is much appreciated.
Guest MitchellO Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 When I go to such hotspots (eg. TMobile) I connect, then go into Internet Explorer, go to the google website (or whatever really) and I am redirected to the routers signup page. I just enter my billing info and i am surfing!
Guest MitchellO Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 (edited) If you have a TMob account I believe you can sign in, or just signup for a certain amount of time. I don't have an account, and it was a few months ago. Edited April 7, 2005 by MitchellO
Guest fallwood Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 Cheers , thats how i thought it worked , must have been something wrong with the hotspot. Will give it a try at a starbucks or mcdonalds tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
