Guest mkent_barbados Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 Hi all, have this under the thread for the plugin in Software, but doesn't seem to be too much action over in that forum so thought I would post it here as well. I've made what I consider to be a nifty homescreen with the media player plugin using HomescreenDesigner, but on my US ver SP3i with WMP10 it comes up and says cannot find MSWMPLAYER. I assume I can change the shortcut in the registry, but where would the key be? Have tried a search but haven't found it yet....thanks for any advice...
Guest mkent_barbados Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 *bump* sorry to bump but still hoping someone has got this to work??

Guest Jamma14 Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 (edited) Ok...I have no idea if this will work or not... I extracted the wmp plugin dll from the cab and in a hex editor changed the only string of "mswmplayer" to "wmplayer" and then padded with 0's as I heard the problem was the name change. Then I remade the cab. DISCLAIMER Please back up your phone before trying this out I have no idea what the hex editing will do and I haven't tryed it myself as the plugin works fine for me. This cab could hard reset your phone or worse. I take no responsibility if this is the case. So there you are. Anyone wanna give it a go so I can say if it works...or breaks your phone? ;)wmp_hacked.cab Edited May 7, 2005 by Jamma14
Guest Jamma14 Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 (edited) Crap. O well didn't think it would. Worth a try tho :?: EDIT: O just might've realised you mean you don't wanna test it...maybe i went overboard with the disclaimer but anyway what did you mean?? And the five downloaders so far...any luck??? Edited May 10, 2005 by Jamma14
Guest Raven Nephilim Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 The .cab file seems to be busted. Post the .dll, which is the file that seems to be giving us all the trouble. Rave On
