Guest Ryu69 Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 I've just got a second hand MPx200. I love this phone! Although, its original battery wouldn't last more than 7-8 hour (without running anything on it. Freshly restarted and the phone was just sitting in the corner). I ordered a new batter, charged it for 15 hours, and here we go. Same problem! I'm so pissed off about this! I hope there is an easy solution to my problem. I'd like to note that the phone came factory unlocked (the original motorola phone, not a contract one) with Win2002, and I upgraded it to Win2003 with its patches. Please, help me out of this! Thanks

Guest Ryu69 Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 Thanks for your reply. I solved my problem some days ago, sorry for not posting that everything is ok. The problem was No. 3!! Damn infrared! I thought it'd be a good idea to have it on, as my C500's iR is always on with no problems. Battery goes forever. With MPx200's iR enabled, u could see the battery % level going down every few seconds! My god! That's a battery killer! Thanks again :D Cheers

Guest crypto1969 Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 Where on the MPx 200 is the option to disable IR ? Thanks for your reply. Guest m1.carson Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 Same problem, used IR for the first time, day before yesterday,[only had the phone six months], the following day the battery was flat by the afternoon, charged it fully by about 7pm,and by 11-30pm it was down to three bars, turned it off overnight,as three bars was enough for a day, just booted it this am and I've only got one bar and warning beeps. There doesn't seem to be a facility to turn the beam off, I don't know what version of windows youre using but 2002 only lets you enable it. I've even pulled the battery to no avail, any ideas apart from a hard reset, and never use IR again.
Guest HeXo Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 4. is yr gprs connected? try pressing on the "end call" (red color) button twice and the G should not appear in yr network signal strength indicator. Hi, I sometimes have the "G" indicator on and sometimes doesn't. I tried pressing the "end call" button twice but it doesn't work. How do you deactivate GPRS? ~HML
Guest m1.carson Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Hi, There are two posts on turning off the IR, but, I've found out how to stop the IR functioning [by accident]. I don't know what the difference is but pulling the battery didn't work, BUT running it flat-flat and giving it a full recharge has restored the battery to it's normal working life.
