Guest Perfectionist Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 (edited) In the Start/Settings/System/Regional Settings screen - it came up with the English (United States) setup as default after a Hard Reset This US setting actually shows the day of the week in the Date plugin of the Today screen - I cant get it to do the same when set to UK region though :D Anybody know how to ?? Guest GothTeddy Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 get yoursef a registry editor (like PHM). go into Hkey_Local_Machine\nls\Overrides make a new string called "SLDte" with value "dddd d MMMM yyy" (for "Friday 8 April 2005") save it and soft reset. Et voila.
Guest Perfectionist Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 Thanks for the reply ! I'm usually a bit wary of making any changes to the registry ..... but I can't sleep at night knowing my JAM doesn't show the day on the screen :D Cheers
Guest Perfectionist Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 WOOO HOOO !! It works !! Thanks for your help :D Where do you learn all this cunning stuff ????

Guest GothTeddy Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 after a soft reset it should appear in your programs folder :D
Guest FragMeister Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 you could always change your regional settings to Engligh - New Zealand, as that has dddd d MMMM yyyy for the Long Date format - used to use this on my SPV, and it worked a treat without any adverse effects
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Odd that those English-speaking countries that don't know what day of the week it is also can't handle the 24-hour clock !
