Well as the title says now and again my C500 crashes when I get a text.

Its only now and again so it wouldn't be an issue apart from the fact I lose the text!

I almost threw my C500 when it did it tonight, then I went to text a few people who I thought it could be from and it said "Sending Failed" at that point I almost got out my trustie Nokia 6310i!

Has anyone else had similar problems?

I am wondering if its due to something I have installed as I recently had a care replacement for another issue and it did it too.

Cheers

Do you have a customised SMS tone? Or is it one that was originally on the phone?

If so, try a basic tone and see if it makes any difference.

This used to happen to me all the time on my original SPV, but haven't heard of it for a while now.

My phone is always on Vibrate so its not the ring tone

ITs not too manay apps running, its when its just sitting on the desk or something and basically everytime I finish using something on thr phone I run the "Free Memory" thing that comes with Binarys task manager.

I have this problem too, its only happened 3 or 4 times in the past year.

The phone just locks, I've left it hours to free itself but it won't.

I end up having to remove the battery.

Then the text message is missing. and I never know what I missed.

It happened yesterday. (running the very latest official orange rom)

I haven't got the problem with the phone freezing, but have lost a couple of sms'es in the past becuase of the deletion issue. As I have SMS Notify and can read the sms right away, it could be some kind of solution if it was possible to mark text messages as unread when they are received (yeah, I know it wouldn't be too smart if you haven't got something like SMS Notify installed).

There is an option "Mark as unread" in SMS Notify, but you have to set it manually for every contact, and I don't even know if this will do what I want.

Anyway, just some food for thought ;)
