Guest BirdRobin Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 (edited) Hi guys, I'm new to this forum. Bought a 2nd hand MPX200 last week, and encountered some problems. 1) Phantom SMS problem, solved by going to Motorola's service center and doing a software reload. 2) Battery life problem, 6hours and the battery life was gone. Did a hard reset, but found out that the file manager and photo viewer apps built in previously were gone, go i went back to the service center again to do a software reload (again.) 3) Battery life is still short, temped to do a hard reset again (by full charging the battery and hard reset it while the battery is full), but I really want the two built in apps (photo viewer and file manager). Can some one help me out? Is there anyway that I can back my installed apps? Especially the photo viewer and file manager? I really like them, but i do not have the CD with me because I got the phone from a 2nd hand dealer... 4) Is there anyway to solve the short battery life problem (7hrs tops batt drains) without doing the hard reset? Using Motorola's default version of Windows Mobile 2002. Thanks alot people... Edited April 9, 2005 by BirdRobin
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 Welcome to the site :D 1, For future reference the phonetom sms can be fixed without hard resetting the phone etc. http://www.modaco.com/Phantom_SMS_FIX_with...uff-t54501.html 2, To improve the battery life you need to do a hard reset when the battery is fully charged. 3, Best thing to do is ask at the service center if they have a cd you can have. 4, All depends on your use of the phone but things you can do to look after the battery is to keep it topped up as the battery prefers it that way but also a good overnight charge is good to do once in a while to help condition it.
Guest m1.carson Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 (edited) Hi, If you look at RYU69's post yesterday there's a distinct possibility his IR is turned on,and as said in the post, in win 2002 there's no way of turning it off, will have a mooch around Motorola's website to see if there's a patch. It looks as though my Mpx200 is now fixed, I ran the battery flat-flat and re-charged it, it lasted from 9-30 AM till 11-30 PM with four bars. Hope this works for you.
