Dust issue SPV C500 "solved"

I am from Romania and my SPV C500 has 2 1/2 months and it has the "dust" problem. I read on MoDaCo about this thing and saw that phones are replaced in UK so i contacted Orange Romania for this problem and the Security Certificate issue as well. On the "dust" issue the answer came painfully slow at over 3 weeks since i contacted them and it was the one i expected . The guys from Orange told me to take the phone to the service to be cleaned no way changing the device. The problem would be that in my town wich is in the center of Romania there is no service qualified for the job ,so i will have 2 send the phone 315 km. away in Bucharest (capital) where it will b opened and cleaned. The "trip" will b an average of 2 weeks till the phone will b back . I decided to go there by myself and solve the problem in one day. The operator that called me told me she has the same phone from december 2004 (mine is january 2005) and it has no dust ,and when i told her about phones beeing replaced in UK she told me i am in Romania and that won't happen here. The Security Certificate issue is also "allien" for most of the operators i spoke with as none of them knew what it is ,not even the guy from Orange Shop wich had the phone 1 month before me. The weird thing is that the phone is also expensive 289 $ +VAT for prepay or postpaid service . What can i say LIFE SUCKS !!! I am so upset on Orange Romania .

I thought i share this with u guys from wich i have learned more that i could learn from anyone .THX !

From the service provide the answer was that it is a problem of usage. But Orange support told me to go to service. I will go to service with phone and i want to see what happens...

from bucharest...

look at cetelec's answer:

Buna ziua,

Puteti sa il trimiteti in service pentru verificare insa mie unul nu imi pare un defect al telefonului ci unul de utilizare al sau.

and orange:

In ceea ce priveste solicitarea dumneavoastra, va recomand sa mergeti cu telefonul la adresa service indicata pe certificatul de garantie al terminalului.

no comment :D

Hi Guys !

I have a friend who work for Orange and he told me that I have to bring the phone to the service. They will clean and will try to do something in order not have this problem again. If the problem persists, they will change the phone.

But, if you read the threads here about dust issue, you will see that currently there is no solution with this problem. Even in UK, they change the phone, but the new one has the same problem. So, why to bother to change it if the new one is like the previous one ?!?

Also in these threads you can find a way of cleaning yourself the screen, but you will loose the warranty.

When I will decide to open by myself the phone, I will find a way to stop the dust, to protect the screen from all the "holes" around (IR, speakerphone, etc)...

If you find a better solution, please post it here !

Thanks !

VM.

Your point of view is quite interesting but there is the problem that i do not like every 2 months let's say to pay a visit to the service for cleaning ,plus Orange Romania needs to learn how to treat it's clients.
