Change COM port in ActiveSync?

I use ActiveSync 3.8 and I find that it "holds" COM1 which I don't want it to use as I have another application that use COM1

Is there a way to get ActiveSync to use a different port?

EDIT Just to be clear, I did go to File -> Connection settings and unchecked 'Allow serial cable or infrared to this com port'

Saved the settings and rebooted my PC - still the same problem.

When I close wcescomm.exe in Task listing, the other program works. When I load up ActiveSync, it says that COM1 is in use, even that I unchecked it.

Bug?
