Audiovox 5600/Orange HELP!

Hey gang -

Here's my first issue. . . .I'm on my second Audivox 5600, and aside from the fact that the screen gets dusty, the phone is too small (always a problem for me - small phones are ergonomic nightmares), the speakerphone is crap, the top end speaker volume is absurdly quiet, and the ability to customize the interface is too limited, it has been a great phone.

My real problem is this: With my new phone, I cannot add any attachments to my email. No voice, no pix, no video. Instead of sending directly to/via email, the phone defaults to the main email page, allowing for a selection of service (MMS vs. user defined pop) and the subsequent creation of a new email. With my last 5600, any time I wished to send a file, it would place the file in a new email, and all I had to do was select a recipient, hit send/reciv and all was cherry and happy.

In short, the sucker won't send attachments. It will send email all day long, but it ignores the attachments. What the heck am I missing here? Something obvious? As usual, ATT/Cingular is of no help at all. I'm looking to you, the masters of all things mobile, for a clue.

Thanks!

Smart Explorer by www.binarys.com allows you to add attachments to your emails.

Have you set up your email for your new phone?

Yep. All set up for email, and it works. I just can't get the attachements working like I used to. . . kind of hoping someone else ran into this trouble - and solved it. Will check the binarys site. Thanks.

I had the same problem on my smt5600 and it was killing me! I finally got it to work by doing a hard reset, then after the hard reset (BEFORE doing anything else) I just open the built in album, click on any pic and hit send to email, then choose outlook and it attaches the file to an email. After that, the phone is good to go....

I use sprite to back up my phone and I've had to restore my phone from the backup SEVERAL times (for various reasons) I need to do what I have written above EACH time before I do a restore in order for my attachments to work... it's crazy!

This doesn't make any sense! Any other 5600 users with this issue? Are you telling me you have to hard reset EVERY TIME you want to send an attachment? I don't think I'm that dedicated!
