Guest extravagant Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 Guys how can I get the phone to be online when it is synced so I can update the anti virus, and browse etc. In the Data Connections, I tried putting the first setting in the Data Connections as 'pass through'.. someone please help! I must update my anti virus etc. If you remember me from a month ago or so, my SMT 5600 broke and nothing worked. I live in Canada, I had to ship it to New York, Audiovox couldn't fix it so they sent me a replacement. Now I must do everything I can to ensure it doesn't berak, other wise my dad will gangbang me :D
Guest martin Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 If you want to browse the internet on the on the SMT5600 using the PC internet connection then you just need to set 'Internetconnection = Pass though connection' in the phones data connection menu. That should work. The only other thing to check is thst Internet Explorer, Menu-Options-Connections has 'Select Network: The internet'.
Guest extravagant Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 (edited) OK guys I can browse but now I cant update the anti virus! it says to check the proxy settings.. I dont know! it is set to pass through on connection in Internet Edited April 12, 2005 by extravagant
Guest DJ E-Bam Posted April 14, 2005 Report Posted April 14, 2005 WOW....this is such a cool feature. Finally I can surf the net on my phone without destroying my bill....:D
Guest Confucious Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 A couple of points: 1) Internet connection should be set to Automatic if you want to be able to connect via GPRS as well - then it will use GPRS unless you are connected to the PC when it will use passthrough. 2) Why on earth is anyone slowing down their phone by running AV s/ware on it when there aren't any viruses for the smartphone? A triumph of nmarketing over reality if ever there was one. Just my 2d's worth ;)
