ok, here's the problem. I had my first c500 and it died. I got a replacement battery (free) from Orange and it worked..........then after a few days it died and a new battery didn't work......so Orange replaced the phone.

Now my new phone has died. It's just stopped working and won't charge or anything.

I'm starting to think about getting Orange to change my phone for something else.

Anyone have similar problems or know what to do?

Cheers

Ade

I think you must have been very unlucky :D I have two C500 phones and had no problems with either of them.

I would just go back to Orange and ask for a full replacement.

somewhere, and I do not remember what forum I read it on, the battery was not the problem of the phone, the problem was the charger for the phone. Try your phone with a new charger, or do what I do and use the usb cord and charge it from laptop. May be worth a try

My C500 died. Couldn't switch on or wouldn't show as charging so I though the battery was dead. After forking out for a new battery still no life.

Off to HTC UK it went. New Motherboard and we are all go again.

Can't wait for those 1gb cards to drop a liitle more. Then I can store everything on card rather than phone as it all went when the new motherboard went in.

Have you tried charging it from the normal charger (not USB)? I've read somewhere else that the battery will not recharge from the USB cable if it's gone completely flat before you plug it in.

Im thinking you probably have a hardware problem with the connectors to your battery - Its orange's job to replace it - or send it to HTC

ok it was a bit of a weird one.

having had problems in the past and one phone totally die on me i didn't know what to do.

it wasn't responding to anything and nothing would light up when the charger was connected.

i ended up leaving the phone connected to the charger for a few hours.

came back and it had started charging again. now it's been totally fine. strange?!?
