Hi,

Is this a problem for anyone.

My GPRS keeps turning on. I have set the time-out to one minute and it turns back on. It even turns on when I don't do anything with the phone aside from making calls and cheking the calendar.

Any help is appreciated.

Forgot to add that I am using an SMT 5600 in North America.

Thanks.

More likely to be a program that is trying to connect to the 'net.

What program do you have installed on the phone?

SMT 5600 alias my SPV C500 has the little "G" icon on allways meaning that GPRS is available and it is within range. I attached 2 pics for u 2 see the difference.

This is the standby and other situations icon when GPRS is connected but there is no traffic.

This is when GPRS is active and there is data recieved/sent.

A GPRS connection is continuous and it is charged only for traffic " upload+download. And so far as i know it can not be deactivated.

With the Audiovox ROM once you have the G in the signal bar it will remain there until a reboot unlike the C500 where it is only avtive when

actually using GPRS.

Yeah, I get the small "G" over the signal bars.

Thanks, this is good to know. BUT I was getting the G over the signal bar even after a reboot and even if I didn't do anything to activate it ( starting IE).

Only Sprite back-up.

The phone is an unlocked AT&T phone being used on the T-Mobile network.
