Orange Plugin

I see a lot of homescreens out there which require the "orange" plugin for smartphone.

For those of us not on Orange (or not even in the UK):

What does this plugin do?

Is it possible to add this plugin to the phone without flashing to an Orange ROM?

Do I *want* to install the plugin if it's possible and the plugin is availabe somewhere?

The plugin is part of the ROM, so No - there's no way to add it to your phone (or none that I know of I should say) and there's nowhere to get a copy of it anyway

It doesn't do anything particularly interesting or useful anyway. I have it on my Orange handset, but I don't use any Homescreens that make use of it.
