Guest confused and hungover Posted April 14, 2005 Report Posted April 14, 2005 ok, i'm hoping this thread will catch RemyJ's eye... i've been trying to get the RJshortcuts plugin to work with the crosshair From the Mru plugin. basically, i prefer the RJ shortcut plugin because i like to know the icons i choose are gonna be in the same place every time, but everything i have tried so far to get the crosshair working in the shortcut plugin have failed. ](*,) i was kinda hoping there might be something RemyJ could do to the shortcut plugin to get crosshairs, cursors etc to be able to select the individual icons.... if it's already possible... does anyone know how?????? C&H
Guest aliaird Posted April 14, 2005 Report Posted April 14, 2005 It may be possible. Have a look in the readme.html file that comes in the rjshortcut.zip It talks about being able to use a gif as a button image, which presumably is what is going on elsewhere? "button-image - Optional. Sets an image to use as the selected icon background. The image is drawn centered behind the selected icon so make sure you have enough room and that the spacing is set appropriately. The "button-transparent-color" attribute can also be set to set the transparent color index of the image. Button-transparent-color - Optional. Sets the color index to render as transparent. If not specified and the file is an GIF or ICO image, the value set in the image file will be used. For other image formats, no value will be drawn as transparent. Haven't tried it myself, still got lots of other things to do first! Good luck! 8)

Guest aliaird Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Looking good, did you progress things from that screenshot? I managed to get a good 3 hours on my own last night to work on my screen, still not totally happy but we're getting there. I want to do more on the smartphinger smartmonitor plugin but otherwise it's getting there. I think I'll prob do away with the messages plugin. If I've got the reminders on the iconbar that'll do I think. It should also make it look less crowded.

Guest confused and hungover Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 thought i'd best post it here instead...
Guest aliaird Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 The top one is smartmonitor, then of the icons, the top one is RJshortcuts and the second one is MRU plugin. I think I might change them to both RJshortcuts. I wonder what might wold look like with just a black screen behind it? Might try! It doesn't actually look so bright in reality!

Guest sracer Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 (edited) Nice images, but they contrast needs to be turned down for them to be great homescreen backgrounds. The crosshair cursor is nice, but not at the expense of screen real estate, IMO. Here's my latest using SmartMonitor and RJShortcuts. Edited April 15, 2005 by sracer
