Guest NikLP Posted April 14, 2005 Report Posted April 14, 2005 Hi... Bit of a weird one this. I have an SPV E200 (Orange UK). My desktop is running XP/SP2 and WMP10 and is otherwise singing and dancing. I have no intention of buying any media devices that will sync with windows or WMP in any fashion. I like dragging and dropping stuff myself. I do not own any devices that will sync in this fashion. Apart from a damn USB Drive (WHY?) and my SPV (WHY??). Why does the USB drive attempt to syn with WMP when I insert it? What does it think will happen? I'm going to play mp3's silently in my pocket on the way home?? I am not offered any option to NOT sync! This locks WMP. I am not happy. I need to restart WMP in order to reply my internet radio station, as this is stopped automatically by the USB drive trying to sync. Also, a similar thing happens when I dock my SPV. Only, because WinXP recognises that an SPV is *definitely* a portable device, it tries to sync it automatically. Which completely locks WMP until I undock the SPV, and again this interrupts my radio station. Bright ideas anyone? I have uninstalled Media Connect and this has had no effect (which I would have hope would have done, but **** windows) Ta! Nik
