Guest chucky.egg Posted April 14, 2005 Report Posted April 14, 2005 AFAIK it can' record voice calls, but it can record conversations taking place around it (so potentially it could record your end of a telephone conversation, but you'd have to try it to see) In previous versions you could only record to the phone's memory, but according to their site you can now record directly to the SD card (which means you can make better quality, longer recordings) http://www.poccosoftware.com/ella.html

You can still only record to the phone memory, but the app can then transfer the recording to your SD card for you. The end result is that, with about 18Mb free on my phone I can only record 17 minutes at the lowest PCM setting, or 1hr 26m on the GSM setting (which when I used it previously wasn't good enough to record meetings for later transcription). There seems to be a valid technical reason for it (to do with the time it takes to save to the SD card), but ...
