1Gb cards have been selling for £50-£60 for quite a while now ..... seeing as 2Gb cards are here shouldn't they (quite quickly) replace the 1Gb card in the same price bracket ??

The cheapest 2Gb I have seen is with these guys :

Anybody have any experience of them ??

They won't replace it in the same price range that quickly. It will be months before it gets near the current 1Gb price.

True - but how many months .... 2/3 or 12 ?? !!

Long time. Looking at the avaliblity of 2Gb SD card. It may take another 6 months to at least see another price drop.

That is of coz unless 4Gb come out. Which i heard is coming soon.

i am guessing he is joking....

And by my guess even in 2008 we still won't have 16Gb. 32Gb is way off.

I doubt that 32Gb SD cards are real yet. As it says on that chart, they are a few years off. By then, 32Gb won't be as much as it is today. It will be like when you had a 500mb hdd in your computer and it was a good size, but you were anxiously waiting for the 1Gb hdds! ;)

I personally wouldn't want to use more than a 1gig/2gig card. I've had a CF card corrupt on me in the past, and I know a couple of you guys have had SD cards corrupt. The larger the card, the less chance there is I'll have it all backed up somewhere so the more data I'll lose. Now, when they get the fuel cell technology properly minaturised so we can all have 40 gig 1inch hdd in our PDA's, then I'll be happy ;)

I'd be more afraid of the 40GB 1in hdd, as much more can go wrong, with moving parts. Particularly if you drop it!

4 Gb by the end of the year is what i heard. Although after so many years of reading technology news i interputed it as early or 2nd Half of next year for wide market avalibllity
