Hey guys,

I got an MPX 200 (Tri-band, not ATT) recently, and since I have too many ants in my pants, decided that 2002 wasnt good enough, so i put the 2003 SE on it.. :D

When I was going through the menus, i saw that the 900 frequency option is gone.. It says Auto/1800/1900. Here are two questions that I want to ask you guy s:

1. I think since the frequency is hard-coded onto the machine, and software independent, working this phone on a 900 MHz frequency by choosing the frequency as Auto should work.. Am i correct in this assumption?

2. Secondly, after applying the upgrade and the GSM and language fixes, the battery is going dead pretty fast (I flashed the phone when it was almost 100% and hard-reset it). The beam receive is off. ANy other reason why this could be happening ?

Look forward to your replies !

1. I don't know if it was only bad rom, but with "Cartman" rom I got very poor reception and I also lost 900 MHz band. When changing rom to 3.70.23.0, 900 MHz band came back and reception improved dramatically.

2. With 3.70.23.0 rom I don't need language and gsm fix patches. Well, I wouldn't get finnish t9 dictionary anyway :D This rom also increased my battery life from "Cartman" roms 2 days to ~4 days.

Conclusion: 3.70.23.0 is the best rom I have tried so far, and I'm sticking to it. :D

PS Could someone comment my english, because I'm not very sure if anyone understands me :D

Yes

Almost 100% is not 100% basically make sute the battery is definately 100% charged then do the hard reset.

One way to see if it is fully charged is to power the phone off then charge, when it has fully charged the phone will vibrate.

BTW you have 2003 not 2003SE as there was never an SE ROM made for the MPX200. The 2003 ROM has only been hacked from the AT&T version and not ported or created from scratch.

Yeap, put the SE in by mistake, sorry about that, I can try relflashing it.. Back to the first point though:

Does anyone know if 900 does not exist, but the phone was a tri-band on 2002, will it be tri-band on 2003, even though 2003 does not show 900?? One of my freinds plans to take it to India on his summer break, so just making sure the thing actually works !

As I said in my first reply yes if the phone was triband on 2002 it will be triband on 2003. As the ROM was hacked from the AT&T version AT&T did not use the 900band and so it was not included in the listing, so all you need to do is set it to automatic.
