Hi, just got my new jam, and think I better get a screen protector, since everyone else seems to have one. Anywhere in the UK? Many thanks

I've ordered the Exim screenprotector, clarity is amazing but it does not fit properly

I know its not UK...but Brando ultra clear screen protectors are superb.

Got mine in about a week....

Just be careful not to get them (or any other make of protector) under the screen...as it stops the screen responding...

Cheers

Could you explain that in more detail please ?

Sounds like good advice but I'm not sure what you mean exactly.

After some research i have come to the final 2

Boxwave - Cleartouch Crystal

Brando Screen Protector.

According the reivew here

Bith review done by the same person and he noted the similarity between the 2. I am wondering if they are actually the same. Or if one of them is better than another.

Hi Stu

Well, I got a ultra clear screen protector from Brando. When I fitted it my screen stopped responding to taps (no response at all).

So I removed the protector (it does come off but my nails didn't make it easy) and contacted Brando to tell them what happened (I also posted on this forum about it as it happened).

Brando were brilliant..they replied to my mail almost immediately and sent me a replacement straight away.

This time I was even more careful when I fitted it..and made sure it wasn't fitted between the screen and the case (there is a gap between the casing and the screen that you can tuck it into).. also I fitted it from the bottom of the screen first this time, although I don't think would have made a difference.

The protector is exactly the same size as the visible part of the screen so it can be done if not careful.

This time the screen worked fine...it is very clear and TBH it doesn't effect how hard you need to pres on the screen to get a response.

As it happen I've got an Ipod that needs a wheel protector so I've used the old protector for that.

I also read a thread on the XDA-Developers forum about this and a number of people have said that it can stop the screen responding.

Sorry if that was a bit long winded......

Thanks for the explanation. Very useful information. ;)

I see what you mean now. I probably would have tucked the top of the protector into the gap to make it secure. Now I know better.
