Asking for Help with Mpx220

I JUST bought an MPx220, and I'm looking for either a complete forum with ALL of my MPx220 needs, or alot of assistance so that I may use this awesome peice of technical genius to it's full extent. I have seen a couple of websites before that offer free goodies, I just, for the life of me, can't remember any. But for my phone, I'm looking for assistance with ActiveSync, because when I first hooked it to my PC, it said I had an error with outlook. I'm also wondering what format do videos have to be in, in order to be played on the phone. I've got my Mp3 rings, so I'm cool with that, and I figured out how to use the PHoto Caller ID, which is cool too. I'm mainly wondering about: Free Games and applications, and how to properly install them, I'm assuming I have to use ActiveSync, so I'm looking for help with that, an ActiveSync tutorial, I guess, WMP file format for videos, homepage pictures, and what format they should be in, the camera shutter noise, turning it off, (anyway to speed up the cell phone applications?) Ringtone assistance, and will it play the full MP3 each time someone calls, or until they stop calling... best kilobyte rate for the mp3 ringers, Using the phone as a modem for my laptop too, and is there ANYway to change the fonts on the phone? If anyone knows of a COMPLETE user's guide (not like the one in the box, because that blew) I would be EXTREMELY grateful, or if anyone can answer any of these questions, that would aslo be greatly appreciated!!!! my email is [email protected] if anyone could be of assistance!

THANKS ALOT in ADVANCE, EVERYONE!!!

for your video needs: PocketDivXEncoder

games and apps: like what? what kind of apps/games are you looking for? there are apps out there for all kinds of things. check the downloads here, coolsmartphone, etc. just search, unless you know something semi-specific that you want. you can play gameboy, snes, nes, etc on the thing. so this is way too broad of an area to get into w/o kind of having an idea what youd want ;)

theres a program called homescreen designer that lets you customize a ton of stuff on your phone w/o much effort at all. you can get a trial of that and test out all those things. as you mess around with that, youll learn more about format, etc.

camera shutter: unfortunately, i dont think you can turn it off. its a PAIN. maybe you can... and ive just missed that, but i thought i tried everything. i dont think they want you taking dirty pictures. at least not without the subject knowing it!

tweaks2k2 to do a little tweaking to your device w/o editing the reg yourself.

i find that wmv work better (seem to sound louder and are more clear - i use 128kbps) than mp3s for ringtones. and you have to have wav files for the other beeps and system sounds (not mp3 or wmv)

agile messenger is what most people prefer for using aim/icq/yahoo/etc

and check to see if you need to update your firmware. go to your about screen (i think its the first page of settings) and check there, next to "manufacturer"

The camera Shutter Sound can be turned off by setting this registry key from 1 to 0.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ArcSoft\Camera\Shutter sound

For this, and other pieces of MPx220 trivia, see the website below in my signature (that is when my ISP isn't crapping out).

HAHAHA!!! YOu guys are great! As far as websites for free stuff, just gimme a link and lemme check it out!!! I think that would be cool as all hell to be sitting a work playing the old school 'Secret of Mana' for SNES on my damn phone!! Any game boy games would be cool, but I'm rather partial to RPG's, just because they have longer game time and seem to be more involved. Not much replay value, but hey....

Things like the font and pretty much any webpage that I could just see a list of apps, so I could pick and choose if I wanted would be cool... I do appreciate the response I've gotten so far guys, thanks!!

This is rather strange. It should already be there. What is the rev of Firmware on your phone? I know it is there on both .325 and 1.3 (Cingular branded).

its there by default in 1.03, but its not there in 1.25... i hope this isn't a signal of things to come in the new 'official' rom because it was nice to be able to turn it off in 1.03
