Guest cold_fire Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 This is not my first topic regarding the IR problem on my C500. I tried to send files to other phones via IR (Nokia 6600 ,Samsung P400 ,Siemens S55) and failed every time. The only one i managed 2 communicate with was the old but gold Sony Ericsson T68i. I have tried with file manager and smart explorer but still no result. Ok now File Manager i select the file to send choose send by IR ,it searches and for about a second i get to see the other phones name than it goes back to main menu without me to do anything. Smart explorer ,same steps ,result "Unable to connect" Any other similar problems or mayb a solution ? Thx anyway . ;)
Guest cold_fire Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 Moved to C500 section ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thx ,i was not paying attention when posted ...
Guest jporch316 Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 Could depend on what files you are sending - for example if you are sending polyphonis ringtones to a samsung they wont go because a samsung only plays .mmf polyphonics not .mid. Im pretty sure there are other examples of this. I could never get my old mpx200 to infa red anything to the siemens sl55 but it worked with other phones (including most nokias) The problem with infra red is that the handsets have to be really close (almost touching) and if at first you dont suceed - try again.

Guest jporch316 Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 Whenever i have tried this I have almost always had to place the infra red section of the phone next to the equivalent on the other phone - almost touching
