Active sync probs

having trouble with active sync and my MPx 200.

Recently re-formatted my PC, re-installed everything, but now active sync won't work.

It either comes up with an error whilst conneting, or tells me to check the settings on the phone (it does this no matter what I change the settings on the phone to :x .

anyone know where I might be going wrong?

or have I just over looked something stupendously simple?

For Xp the best active sync is 3.8 ,the latest ,try it ,also see on wich port is the phone seen.

The oldest version of ActiveSync I tried on my SP2 machine was 3.7 (so there was actually 3.6? hehehe)

Try to uninstall version 3.6 then download version 3.8 from:

so far, not so good, still comes up with the same "check settings on device" message.

This is getting annoying :?:
