Hi I got the c500 back in August until recently have remained dust free. However of the past few weeks it has started to build up.

I called Orange and all was going fine until they told me they only have a 6 month warranty and that I would have to pay £100 or £300 depending on whether I took there insurance.

Surely this can't be right although it's a recognised fault I still have to pay for a replacement?

Anyone managed to get theirs replaced after six months???

the 6 month thing sounds like nonsence, all phones come with a years warrenty as standard. orange dont replace phones for dust under warrenty, as annoying as that is.

orange care doesnt even cover the dust issue, unless you can charm it out of a cs rep.

best bet is http://www.htceurope.com/

It thought all electrical equipment has a 2year warrenty in the EU and something like 6years for design flaws.

Orange is trying to pull a fast one - It's taken me since November to get Oranage to admit that a faulty phone is still there responsibility once it's over 6 months but less than a year old.

I had a Samsung E700 which had 3 lines of dead pixels on the screen - After about 10 calls and 2 letters (In which each call Orange told me I had to send it back to the manufacturer) they finally sent me a letter saying that they did have to repair/replace the phone - November to April to get it solved, the contract runs out in May, so I got the phone replaced, waited 2 day and cancelled my contract.

I wa told that my warranty runs out on the 15th of June (got the contact on the 15th of December.

I've had one handset replaced for dust under the screen (last month), and am now getting replaced tomorrow for the same problem!
