Music skipping at the begining of evry track

Like alot of people my C500 seemed to skip slightly at the begining of every song - but only when it swtiched track itself - manually changeing tracks was fine.

Another thing this is my second c500 and the first one didn't do it.

But right onto the solution - after going through soft and hard reseting the phone - and formatting the SD with no luck - i suddenly realised that every time the phone changes track the light comes on. and of course what other operations are associated with the backlight?

yep - the light sensor - in short disable the light sensor THEN restart your phone. sorted - i hope someone else beifits from this apart from me.

Im sorry to the people for whom this does not work - it worked for me - then for some reason it started again - so i don't think i've hit the problem yet.

Never mind - geting the phone replaced again - i wa stareing at my phone tonight and thought to myself - my god the dust has got worse AGAIN. Maybe the replacement won't have the music problem. heres hopeing.

Just trying this now.....it's been driving me bananas!! ;)

BTW my media player keeps randomly swapping track orders round - is this a common problem? & when I sync an entire album/playlist from my pc, it's listed only as tracks and not in a folder for that album/list - is this the norm too? or have I shot myself in the foot by buying a 1gb card???

Alas, the guide that came with the phone is no help at all...........grr etc

far as i know my 'fix' works for a couple of tracks then starts again for some reason - which still leads me to believe its a memory and processing time problem.

As for swapping your tracks arround - i think you might find its not media player doing it - acutally there is a well known problem coppying stuff from windows to external device such as a SD - when copying multiple files it tends to swap them around a bit. Especuially if you try copying something when its already copying - the only way around this is one at a time copying - or do it in small batches of 5 or something.

Hope that helps

Yeah, it worked for a while but then started hiccuping again.

The screen flickered as it changed tracks so I set the display timeout to never and this seems 'more' stable.

Any idea how to 'join' tracks if it is a mix? or at least not have a gap?

I can see why  range don't have any MP instructions in the instruction book..
