Guest shippo Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Hi can anyone help. Im a little new with the SPV c500, but not stupid! Ive opened an orange.net email account as the way the instruction booklet looked for the spv c500 seemed to say it looked like it would be a doddle to send/receive email on my phone with their account. Ive done the wizard to set it up on the phone, and it all says ok. I then goto to send/recieve for this email account, it trys to connect, asks me for my password (and if i want it to remember it), so i input this info (correctly may i add!), and all it does is keep coming back to that same screen of asking me for my password. Whats this all about? Are there some settings i need to tinker with on the orange website, or on my phone? Im really stuck and have not set up any other email accounts on my phone as I cant seem to get them to work properly either!. thanks shippo (crying into my pillow due to hours of wasted time)
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Welcome to the forum ;) Prepare yourself for more nights of sobbing into your pillow. :D The Orange mainframe is notoriously fickle about letting new users in when trying to access email or GPRS for the first time. Eventually you'll be successful but I'd not be surprised if it took a week
Guest shippo Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 buggers!!! It did just take me 5 days to receive an mms picture from my bro with the exact same phone as me!!
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 anyone else had this problem??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Might be getting a lot of replies mate ;)
Guest shippo Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 by the way, what does "Domain(if necessary):" mean????? when i try to send/recieve email on my phone?? do i need to input anything here if trying to get orange.net email??
Guest shippo Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Hi again just tried setting it up totally manually as per the instructions from the orange website (details below), it asked me if i wanted to download all emails (i only have two there), I said yes, it them said connecting for about 2 mins, then came up with an error message stating "an error occured while downloading messages. Veryfy that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct and then try again" I keep trying again (to no avail) of course all my settings are correct, and im not out in the sticks or anything....any ideas????...is it that i have to wait about a week for orange to allow me to receive emails on my phone or something?? thanks shippo Setting up the data account 1.
