sms delivery report states phone number not name

Hi

when i recieve a text back to say someone has received an sms ive sent, it only says the phone number of who has received the message not the name of the person from my phone book.

any ideas how to make it say the name of whose received it?

AFAIK the status report has the phone number without the "+" infront of the 44 and as a result it does not pick up the phone number from your contacts. I don't think there is anything that can be done to change this, because it relates to what Orange is sending back.

my 7250i nokia can tell me whose received my sms messages by name.

so why cant the spv c500??

also what does AFAIK mean (excuse my ignorance) Im not up with how the "kidz on the streetz" speak these days

(As far as I know)

As previously stated - Your mobile numbers in your contacts need to be in the international format ie +447000000000 for windows mobile to recognise them when it receives calls and texts.

There is an app somewhere around here that updates them all to the right format.

Because Nokia users have an attention span of a goldfish so they require the phone to remind them what they did 10 seconds ago.lol ;)

the reason i liked it with my nokia was that my bird's phone is underground in the day when she's at work so cant get a signal, thus cant get my text messages.

When she finishes work or at lunch time she receives them from me when she's in signal range again.

Kinda lets me know she's ok and not ignoring me.....ha
