Guest extravagant Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Hi guys I always hear about windows mobile 2005 for smartphone, just curious how its going to run.. because theres talk about how windows mobile for pocket pc is will run smartphone programs or somethin.. so can someone explain cuz there seems to be some ambiguity ;)
Guest squall Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 ambiguity ? you seem to understand it all ok! it seems smartphone 2005 .net apps will run on wm phone editon 2005. Its not that a fantastically great thing as most developers for ppc's dont have smartphones and the same wont work in reverse as there is no stylus on smartphone
Guest extravagant Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 I agree, so the best thing to do is just wait for a nice device like the MPX to come out to market, a smaller one, FULLY Equipt with GPS Bluetooth Wifi, 5mp camera (ya right!) etc, that looks like a normal phone, is nice and light and a pocket pc at the same time, just like the MPX just not as wide... sad thing is its gonna take forever for a proper phone like that to come out, an all in one kinda thing. Our only hope is that if the successor to the MPX300 will have all this stuff... remember when the MPX 100 was suppose to come out but Motorola canceld it, well they made a better model, the MPX 200, so I expect the same for the MPX.. . MOTOROLA DO US A FAVOR AND MAKE US A PROPER PHONE!!! I hate having to carry around the SMT 5600 & the HP iPAQ 4150, we need an integrated phone/pocket pc that is fully loaded, AND WITH BUILT IN GPS! ;) ambiguity ? you seem to understand it all ok! it seems smartphone 2005 .net apps will run on wm phone editon 2005. The MPX 200 was Motorolas first Smartphone and predates the sadly cancelled MPX 100 by at least a year. And until Motorola announce there restructured Windows Mobile plans (apparently without the manufacturer of the MPX series) I wouldn't expect anything decent from them. And as they insisted 32meg memory was enough for the MPX right up until they cancelled it I wouldn't hold hope of any successor setting new standards in cutting edge.

I duno about u guys in the UK but here in Canada theres like NO ONE with a pocket pc phone, let alone with a Smartphone.. so I'd like the pocket pc to look as much as possible to a real phone, just like the mpx with the flip screen
