Guest BigLee1 Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Hi Everyone, I have been posting in the help and advice threads, but i wondered if you guys could help. I am strugling to have my phone de-certed so that i can use the really cool homescreens that are available to download. While I am still waiting for an e-mail or the rubbish website to start working, is there any "official" homescreens available to download that will work on a security locked phone?

An alternative might be to try to use ActiveSync to copy the JPGs and the XML files directly to the appropriate folder on the phone "\Storage\Application Data\Home". Here are a few homescreens that are not in a CAB or HME file. http://webpages.charter.net/dchester/MPx220/HomeScreens.htm
Guest squall Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 i dont think you can manually install them either, although you can cahgne the background. I cant get my phone unlocked at the minute either
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 You can manually extract the contents of a cab or hme file using WinRAR. The _setup.xml provides a lot of information. Check it out. ;) Once dismantled and re-created, you can then import the files to your phone's Home folder.
Guest Pwnisher Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 I've had to extract many manually for my I-600. Just rename the files as they are described (open the _setup.xml innotepad.) Only problems I have had are with plugins that won't install unless signed, nothing that can be done about that I suppose.
