Guest Trevor Merrett Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Hello ;) , Can anyone help! i have just got a new SPV M2000 AND I CAN`T SWITCH BETWEEN LINE 1 AND LINE 2. Does anyone have the answer?
Guest RiceBurner Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 Moved to PPC Help & Advice ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> IIRC the M2K doesn't support Line 2.
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 Supposing it did, have you enabled Line 2 with your operator ?
Guest Pondrew Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 The Orange M2000 does not support Line 2. You will receive calls from line 2 but cannot dial out on it...
Guest huddie Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 The Orange M2000 does not support Line 2. You will receive calls from line 2 but cannot dial out on it... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We just bought SPV M2000s from Orange on the understanding that we could use Line 2. We wanted line 1 for our work numbers and our existing personal numbers to be transferred to line 2. Now it looks like we're going to have to swap our business and personal SIM cards on arrival at work and when leaving, albeit I can still set up Line 2 on my work card and *receive* calls from my home number. All of my PIM info is stored in the phone memory, not the SIM card. Won't swapping SIM cards every day be murder on the battery and SIM card electrical contacts ?
Guest SkUk21 Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 yeah its a shame, lets a hope a ROM upgrade will do the trick!
Guest bronksy Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 just wondering.. I know Line 2 can't be switched on the M200, but Calls do come through.. but my unit shows an incoming call but doesn't ring. Does anyone else have this? I read on these forums that the phone should ring...
Guest C500mad Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 Hello there - I got aroung the issue on line 2 by: Activating line 2 and orange everyphone on line 2. I then put the sim card into a C500 which offers line 2 - dialled 330 and diverted all my line 2 calls through to my line 1 number. This way I can receive all my personal calls as normal but when I call out it will be on my business line - It did not seem to ring in on my line 2 even though others on this formum has said that it did Another way of doing it maybe a little bit more complex is - Orange now have single number which is 2 mobile numbers on the same sim card so you could have your line 2 number on a different sim card so that when you turned off your M2000 at the end of the day and turned on your other handset your personal calls would go through to this - £3 per month - £30 activation fee - So during the day receive line 1 and line 2 calls on the M2000 - at night make and recieve calls on your line 2 You need to be a business customer with 50+ employees for single number and I am checking on everyphone at the moment
Guest bronksy Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 everyphone doesn't work.. thats the whole point of this discussion!
Guest huddie Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 Thanks guys. I'll ran these ideas past the Orange sales guy tomorrow and see what he says.
Guest C500mad Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 No worries - Bronsky - This guy is a business customer and will have access to Everyphone - your query was on another string where I am looking to see if retail customers can have everyphone connected
Guest huddie Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Just talked to the Orange salesman who sold us the M2000s. He obviously confirmed that Line 2 isn't available on these phones after all. However, he says that Orange are planning an update to include Line 2 on these smartphones. He didn't have any details, such as release date, but said it was definitely planned. Either he's right or he's just saying this because he's under pressure, given that he sold us the smartphones on the basis of them supporting this feature when they didn't. If I can get another contact inside Orange who's in the know (which may exclude Customer Services) and verify this information I'll let you know.
