How did you install the files ?

I had to copy the jar files to Storage/My Documents and then load up the Java application and select install. I haven't tried many games though.

You have to put a .jar file in the My Documents directory. Try unzipping the downloaded file on the pC and see if there is a jar file contained in it.

If you got http://midlet.org/index2.jsp you will see that you get the option of JAD or JAR for each downdloads. I find that only JAR files load via the JAVA Installer. The jar file looks like a zip file when downloaded to the the PC it probably was that.

Where did you get the pang file ?

You got to open the game from java. (Start java and search for games) Games should be kept in the same folder as Java (I think...)

It depends on the phone (actually the JVM on the phone). For the MPx220, you have to download the JAD file using IE on the phone, and then it will set it up for you.

Copy the .jar file (looks like a zip file on the PC) to \Storage\My Documents.

Load the Java Program for the Start menu

Select Menu-Install form the JAVA program.

Highlight the JAVA application and select Menu-Install again.

You should now see the java application in the JAVA programs main menu ;)

I don't have my C500 unlocked at the moment and I just get the usual warning about unsigned applications when the installing JAVA files.

BTW I've just seen the address http://www.getjar.com posted on another forum and getjar has some files for the 220x176 screen although under different phone models. Some files work and some dont. I'm using the through connection to access wap.getjar.com and inserting the downlad code in the quick download option. Lots of fun ;)

You don't use smartexplorer. You just place the jar file in the 'My Documents' folder and then load up the JAVA application from the Start menu. From the JAVA app you select Menu-install.

I do it the other way around; via SmartExplorer.

All my *.jar files (J2ME) are associated with Java MIDlet so when I click on a jar file, the MIDlet manager launches. If you have already installed the midlet, you can just open Java MIDlet manager and choose the file you want to load/play.

My jar files are inside \Storage Card\My Documents\JAR

@martin

I got some of my files from that site. Have you tried Volley Balley? ;)

Not yet but it looks fun so I think I download that one next ;) I'll also try loading it through Smartexplorer because so far I've only tried loading it from the JAVA install menu.
