Guest gt302sn95 Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Is there currently a way to create a backup a ROM that is in use? I tried to update my mpx220 to a newer rom and it goes through the whole process and then the phone will not power on. I have 2 other identical working phones that I could backup from if it is possible.
Guest Paraklas Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 What is the newer ROM ? What was the old ROM that you planned to upgrade?

Then see if it will power on. Next I would try a hard reset. If all that fails, I would try updating the ROM again. What ROM was on the phone? What ROM are you trying to load onto the phone?
Guest gt302sn95 Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 (edited) I can't do a hard reset because pressing the power button does nothing and same result with blue+power. The working phone that i have shows..... Operator: .210.7004 Manufacturer: 1.110.0.0 and i'm almost positive this was what my phone had when I started. I tried just about every rom out there and the same with all of them. I was hoping there is a way to create a backup of a current rom so i could just copy the working phone and use that one to set it back to the original. Edited April 21, 2005 by gt302sn95

Guest gt302sn95 Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 From what i read that does programs and files. Not ROM.
Guest gt302sn95 Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 The problem fixed itself. I tried every single rom I had again and the 1.30 (Cingular) rom finally worked. For awhile i thought I had a $500 paperweight.
