MMS weird problem

Hi, I can't believe nobody has come across this, so apologies if its already been mentioned.

I've been having problems with my MMS and been on the phone to 156 loads of times, been through all the settings and then I suddenly discovered why it worked sometimes and not others. When I choose a contact from the contacts list, (which looks different to the contacts list used elsewhere on the phone) sending an mms fails. If I type in the number directly it goes. Anyone come across this?? :?
