Guest TigerNet Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 Can anyone tell me how to change the default caller ID picture on the MPX220? (The one with the blank person). I think I saw it posted here somewhere, but can't find it any more... Thanks Nick
Guest Lobojpm Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 I've been lookin' around for this some as well... I'd liek to get rid of that generic blue man as the default caller ID when I don't have a photo assigned. (maybe even use an animated gif??) I'm guessing there is a registry entry somewhere for that, but I haven't been able to find it...
Guest Lobojpm Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 (edited) ...just an update- the graphic files appear to be in the Windows directory and called: "default.jpg" and "unknown.jpg" (I'm guessing one for the external LCD and one for the internal). Now I'm hoping that there are registry values that point to those, and hopefully can be redirected? I'll post anything I can come up with, and I'm sure one of the users here may have the answer as well. Cheers, Lobojpm Edited August 16, 2005 by Lobojpm

Thanks Nick <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What I'd like to know is how you assign photos to callers period - I can't find the option to do it anywhere.
Guest Lobojpm Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 Do that using the Photo Viewer that comes with the OS... Navigate to a photo, then select Menu -> (scroll down to) Attach to Contact It's kind of a strange way of getting photos assigned! ...I still haven't found the registry setting to change the default pictures. :) I am thinking maybe it's within some setting for the Arcsoft software???
Guest cattr70 Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Guys, I don't want to sound like a smart-a.. :), but you can edit any picture you like and resize them to 100x110 px for default.jpg and 176x115 px for unknown.jpg... Rename these new pics to the corresponding names, copy and replace the original ones with these under the windows directory and there, you changed those two... I hope I helped, and if this was already obvious and you actually asked about something else and I did not understand then I apologize... ;) Have a nice day...

Guest Lobojpm Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 yep, assael is correct, that windows directory gets re-written when you restart your phone, so it wipes your custom images. I've created my nice little 100x110 px for default.jpg and 176x115 px for unknown.jpg images that I want to use, but yes, it's got to be a matter of replacing a setting to point to them. I'm not sure if it's a registry value or not- when I try to search the WHOLE registry for say, "unknown.jpg" it will usually hang (I've tried with resco and phm). Because it's related to the Arcsoft, I'm thinking it could be a little trickier but I'm not sure.... Seems like a good thing to mod though-- that generic blue man gets a little boring, IMHO. I'm sure someone can find the key... Thanks-- Lobojpm
Guest cattr70 Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Yep assael you are right, I realized that also when I have restarted my phone... Sorry if I caused any trouble, but I usually do not restart my phone that often... :)
Guest tonis Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 it's weird, once in a while i get calls and it doesn't show the blue man.... looks nice and simple.... just says incoming call.... does anyone know how to disable the blue man always..... thanks
