Guest mstng00 Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 I just recieved my unlocked SMT5600 and put my cingular card in, all is well and works great except it says 310410 instead of Cingular. Can that be changed? I tried to change networks but it says the password is invalid. thanks
Guest squall Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 you can do this using http://www.customcabbage.co.uk/cabbage.php
Guest mstng00 Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 Can this be done on the SMT5600 phone?
Guest mobile-distortion Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 Can this be done on the SMT5600 phone? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> YES. I have a former AT&T SMT-5600 that I switched to cingular....ran fine. Shoot me an email to: [email protected] and I will send you a doc with the Cingular GPRS settins and a .pdf that has a complete HOWTO on the Cingular conversion and some handy reg hacks.
Guest bneufeld Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 With the PHM registry editor: goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/RIL/OperatorNames Click Values Click Menu|New Value|String Value Name = 310410 Value Data = Cingular On my phone that carrier was listed as 31041 so I used that instead of 310410.
Guest mstng00 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 After I do that, what do i do next? Do i need to restart for it to take affect? It still says "310410". thanks
Guest Confucious Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 After I do that, what do i do next? Do i need to restart for it to take affect? It still says "310410". thanks If you restart your phone you'll find out! My bet is that it will work but why not just try it?
Guest pruckelshaus Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Followup question, is there any way to change the bootup splash screen image from the default Audiovox one to something else? Pete
